Over the Coffee - May 2019

We are well into a very beautiful time of the year – flowers blooming, grass green,

birds nesting, and grills appearing on patios. It has been wonderful to watch our church

neighbor, Brad Park, a Christian gentleman who owns the house to our east, landscape

his wall area off of our parking lot. It really makes our property look better as well.

Brad has owned the house for many years and put a lot of work into improving it. He

appreciates our church and the generosity of our parking lot for guests that he has. We

have appreciated his monetary contributions as a way of expressing that gratitude. All

in all it has been another spring in which we have tried to demonstrate to our Sharon

Heights neighborhood our commitment to sharing the values that show the Spirit of

Christ among us. Sometimes we are on the receiving end of that sharing and it is good

to embrace that.

We continue to study the Common Lectionary in Bible Fellowship throughout May,

but we will be combining the two adult classes over the summer and using a book as a

springboard for discussion. At the present time we are narrowing that selection to a few

possibilities and more information will be coming in the bulletin soon. I am reading a

wonderful book on the Lord's Prayer by an African- American woman ABC pastor right

now and we may use that book. It is put out by Judson Press. May each anticipate and

experience a wonderful and enjoyable May as we move through the spring season.
