What a winter we have been having! We even had to cancel one Sunday in
January. Hopefully that will be the only time this winter. As we have shoveled snow
and ived with the few days of Polar Vortex it is a reminder that we aways ought to
thank God for the provisions of His care in this world and for each other. Many people
labor be hind the scenes so that we can have food, shelter, warmth, fuel for vehicles,
news, clothing, and all that we take for granted in life. Let us pause and be grateful.

We continue to discuss the Common Lectionary in my Bible Fellowship class on
Sunday mornings and we will be discussing the passages in our Wednesday Bible study
at 1:00 a.m as well. When we move into Lent this year in March
Bible study begins again on Wednesday, January 9 at 11:00 a.m. We have finished
the Joseph narrative and will move on to some selected Bible study passages as we
move through this time before Lent. When we move into Lent this year in March we
will be discussing the topic of religious freedom on both Sundays and Wednesdays.
On Wednesdays we will be having a Lenten lunch (simple meal) and study beginning
on March 6th. I thing that everyone will find this a rewarding and interesting topic.
Our wonderful volunteer secretary, Janis Snowball, will be having hip surgery
toward the end of February and I hope we will all express our desire that she recover
On Saturday, February 16th we will have movie night (Lord willing) and finally get
to see The Russians Are Coming – an old comedy!
